Lady M is a recently femme, deliciously queer chubby writer, baker, and feminist who creates a home wherever her bra lands. Currently teaching in Michigan, she is planning to pursue her PhD in the fall of 2009, focusing on fat embodiments and non-normative sexualities in Arab and Arab-American communities. Lady M enjoys good beer, dirty gossip, and smart TV. In between episodes of 30Rock, she writes academic/creative non-fiction and poetry, sends real live USPS letters, stuffs a mean turkey, looks a fool on the dance floor, sneaks food from her Mama’s kitchen, and manages the destruction wrought by her two charming but evil cats, Lolita and Finnian. She is looking forward to exploring her new femme-ininity and connecting with such an amazing and supportive queer community.
