Hussy Red writes to you from the charming city of Minneapolis, MN, though her roots remain firmly planted back East in the Garden State where she was born and raised. She is a fourth year Ph.D. student in gender studies focusing on feminist and queer theories and their intersections with new media and fat studies. When she's not working on her dissertation research on the neo-burlesque movement, Hussy Red keeps busy as the editor of the forthcoming first fat, queer anthology, Spilling Over. She identifies as a fierce, fat, sex- and kink-postiive femme invested in merging her academic dreams with her activist heart. In her spare time, she enjoys causing queer upheaval with her femme sisters and allies in the Twin Cities chapter of the Femme Mafia, teaching butches how to slow dance, and attending cake decorating workshops with Midwestern soccer moms.
